Introduction
Jack and Diane met on Valentine’s Day, 2012 when they went on a blind date. They hit it off right away. Some people said it was love at first sight. That night, they spent several hours chatting, laughing and making eyes at each other. They dated several times after that, and even went on a double date with Jack’s friends Brad and Angelina.
Diane was crazy about Jack, and soon he was head over heels for her. In April, Diane told me that Jack stole her heart, and Jack also realized that she was the one.
Jack popped the question to Diane one warm April afternoon in Central Park. She said yes, so they got engaged. In May, they got hitched in Las Vegas. Their close friends, Brad and Angelina, were with them when they tied the knot. Everyone knew that they were made for each other.
Dialog – talking about Jen’s love life
- Jen: I went on a horrible blind date last night.
- Jack: How bad was it?
- Jen: Really bad. It was definitely not love at first sight. In fact, the guy is still head over heels for his last girlfriend, and he could not stop talking about her. It was so annoying.
- Jack: So I guess he’s not the one for you?
- Jen: Nope. Hey, do you have any friends I might hit if off with?

Thanks for studying today!

In my country couples usually go to a restaurant, buy gifts and chocolates to each other, have a special moment and so on. The interesting thing is that in Brazil, we celebrate this date in June, 12th. Tomorrow will be a usual day for us.
Oh, so the same tradition but in June…very interesting. Thanks for sharing
Hi how can I learn English
Try to listen, speak, read, and write something every day
Oh….I wish you had posted this yesterday so I could give it to my advanced class last night!! Never mind….I’ll give it to them anyway next Monday….better late than never!
Here in Spain we have the usual: flowers, chocolates, candlelight dinners…
Much as I share the sentiment, I must say Valentine’s Day is all about spending money. If you love somebody, you should care about that partner throught the year, not just today!
I meant throughout the year.
First of all, I’d like to thank for this wonderful lesson on Valentine’s Day.
Secondly, in Egypt, we celebrate Valentine’s Day by sending e-cards to our lovers and buying flowers as well.
Happy Valentine’s Day,
Amr
